Andy Irons Dies...
The world of competitive surfing is mourning Andy Irons, a three-
time world champion and one of Hawaii's best-ever big-wave riders,
who was found dead Tuesday in a Dallas hotel room.
His death is being investigated as a possible methadone overdose.
Andy, 32, had been suffering from dengue fever, a tropical illness
whose symptoms include severe headaches and joint pain, according
to his family. Methadone, a powerful pain-management drug, was
reportedly found in his hotel room at the Dallas/Fort Worthairport.
An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday. Results of toxicology
tests to determine the exact cause of death could take 60-90 days.
Andy, the world champion from 2002 to 2004, had just returned to
competitive surfing after a year off. He had been on his way home
to Hawaii on Tuesday after withdrawing from a contest in Puerto
Rico.
The surfing world reacted with shock to the news of his death.
"The kind of surfing he did was so creative and so different from
any other surfer," pro surfer Evan Valiere said. "He was real
fluid, but real powerful at the same time. When he was on, I don't
think anybody could match him."
Valiere said news of Andy's death spread quickly Tuesday on Kauai,
where he grew up. "Nobody could believe it," he said. "You expect
somebody like that to live forever."

Swift and Gyllenhaal Go On a Flirty Ice Cream Date...
After flirty dates in and around NYC on Oct. 23 and 24, Taylor
Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal shared a happy Halloween weekend in
California.
First, they hit the pool at the Post Ranch in Big Sur.
"Taylor laughed at everything Jake said," a witness tells says.
"At one point, she measured herself against Jake on her
tiptoes." (An observer adds that Jake "held her hand.")
Then, Taylor, 20, and Jake, 29, stopped for an ice cream break
at McConnell's.
"They looked at all the flavors and couldn't decide, so they
asked the counter girls for help," a staffer says of the duo,
who were "happy" and "friendly."
Taylor, whose new album Speak Now sold 1 million copies in its
first week, chatted up a worker in the back. "Taylor was very
interested in what I was doing in the back making ice cream
and said, 'Wow, you guys are legit!'" the scoop girl added.
Their ice cream picks, which Jake paid for: Swiss chocolate
chip for him, yogurt with rainbow sprinkles for her.
After savoring their treats inside McConnell's for about 20
minutes, the pair split. When they were approached by excited
college-age fans in the parking lot, they "happily obliged"
for photos.

Keira Knightley's London Home Burglarized...
While she was in Rome for the premiere of her flick Last Night,
Keira Knightley's London home was ransacked by burglars.
The assailants took two laptops, which officers believe they
will try to sell. They walked in off the street after pushing
open a faulty communal door at her block near Hyde Park and
forced open the door to her home.
Two other homes in that block have been robbed within a week.
"Keira is mortified to think anyone has been rummaging around
her personal stuff," claims police. "She feels violated and
doesn't know if she wants to return to the flat."
At least police don't believe she was targeted due to her fame.
"There's been a problem with the external communal door," said
a builder working on the block's renovation. "It keeps
sticking and you can push it open. I think the problem has been
reported to the owners of the building but not fixed."
There are no suspects in the robbery.

George W. Bush Calls Kanye West Insult Lowest Point in Office...
Standing firm that his decision to invade Iraq was the right one,
revealing that he considered dropping Dick Cheney from his 2004
campaign to "demonstrate that I was in charge," and even
admitting that a televised insult from Kanye West represented the
lowest point of his presidency, former President George W. Bush
has put pen to paper for a memoir, Decision Points, due from
Crown Publishers on Nov. 9.
Talking about the book in his first TV interview since leaving
the Oval Office, Bush met with NBC's Today show co-anchor Matt
Lauer in Midland, Texas, from his childhood home and church,
and from Centennial Park.
"I faced a lot of criticism as President. I didn't like hearing
people claim that I lied about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction
or cut taxes to benefit the rich. But the suggestion that I was
racist because of the response to [Hurricane] Katrina represented
an all-time low," Bush writes, and which Lauer reads back to him
in the interview, which will air on Monday, Nov. 8, at 8 p.m. ET
as a special Matt Lauer Reports.
"Yeah. I still feel that way," Bush tells Lauer about the moment
West said, during the Concert for Hurricane Relief, "George Bush
doesn't care about black people."
"As you read those words," Bush tells Lauer, "I felt 'em when I
heard 'em, felt 'em when I wrote 'em and I felt 'em when I'm
listening to 'em."
Asks Lauer: "I wonder if some people are going to read that, now
that you've written it, and they might give you some heat for
that. And the reason is this ?"
"Don't care," insists Bush.
"Well, here's the reason," continues Lauer. "You're not saying
that the worst moment in your presidency was watching the misery
in Louisiana. You're saying it was when someone insulted you
because of that."
But Bush holds firm that Kanye West hurt him the most, adding, "I
also make it clear that the misery in Louisiana affected me deeply
as well. There's a lot of tough moments in the book. And it was a
disgusting moment, pure and simple."

Miley Cyrus Is Not Taking Sides in Her Parents' Divorce...
Miley Cyrus won't get in the middle of her parents' divorce.
"Miley is not taking any sides on this. She has been upset recently,"
a source close to the singer reveals.
"She's trying to keep everything private while her family works
through this," the source says.
In divorce papers filed by Billy Ray Cyrus on Oct. 26, the country
singer seeks to share custody of the three minor children he has
with wife Tish: Miley, who turns 18 on Nov. 23; Braison, 16; and
Noah, 10. (The pair also have two older children Trace, 21, and
Brandi, 23).
Tish, 43, headed to Nashville from her L.A. home earlier this week,
while Billy Ray, 49, was in Indianapolis on Monday night to sing
the national anthem for the NFL's Monday Night Football Colts vs.
Texans game.
Next up for Miley: a trip to Madrid this week in anticipation of
her performance at MTV's European Music Awards on Sunday.

LeAnn Rimes: Love Drove Me to Cheat, Which Is 'Not Who I Am'...
LeAnn Rimes has found a measure of peace when it comes to her
affairwith Eddie Cibrian, saying it wasn't like her to cheat on
her husband, but that she did it for love and therefore has no
regrets.
"That's just not me. What happened is not who I am, period," the
country star, 28, says of the affair with her Northern Lights
costar..
But LeAnn isn't dwelling on the past. "I do know how much I love
him," she says. "So, I've always said I don't live my life with
regret. I can't."
LeAnn and Eddie, 37, were both married when they began their affair,
and LeAnn says now that their situation wasn't that unusual. "It
happens every day to so many people," she says. "You had two couples
whose marriages didn't work who really stumbled upon each other and
fell in love." LeAnn has been called everything from a homewrecker
to a stalker, and says she's resigned to the idea that some people
will never get over her infidelity. "Nothing I'm going to say is
going to change it," she says. "I do know that, and I have accepted
that."
Eddie echoes LeAnn's sentiments. "The truth is that we're human
beings," he says. "We make mistakes and we learn from them, but
we're human. We fell in love."
Away from the spotlight, though, LeAnn says her love with Eddie has
blossomed. "We're really happy in what we feel privately," she says.

This rapper has mocked Jay-Z in his new music video by featuring
a look-a-like of the hip-hop mogul...
It's MC Hammer...
The "U Can't Touch This" star has released a promo for new single
"Better Run Run," which sees a man who resembles Jay-Z dressed in
a white t-shirt and a New York Yankees baseball cap, running away
from a devil-like figure.
MC is also said to slam the "Big Pimpin'" hitmaker in the lyrics,
which refer to an "impostor" who has stolen Hammer's "swagger."
The video is said to come in response to Jay-Z's mention of Hammer
in his new song "So Appalled" with Kanye West, in which he raps
about the star's money troubles.
