Greetings...

Well, No one could ever accuse me of not bashing the other side of an
argument, and today's column is again, about weight, or lack of it and =

an Autralian clothing designer that should be boycotted by women, large=

and small!

Rosemary Masic, a designer of the Nevenka fashion label announced that =

she would not offer her clothes in anything higher in size than a 14,
which is a size 10 in the United States. Since I live in the U.S., I
will be using the number 10 instead of the Australian 14...

The reason behind her decision is as ridiculous as her announcement.
"We don't make anything larger because we don't want to endorse unhealt=
hy
living"...

Give me a break!!! The average size of both Australian and American=

women is between a 10-14, and those sizes are by no means overweight
even though the fashion industry still calls those sizes "plus-size".=

Why not address the unhealthy lifestyle of being emaciated, anorexic,
bulimic, on drugs and smoking, all to stay rail thin in the fashion
industry, and then young girls trying to emulate models and actresses? =


This isn't about her speaking out against unhealthy living, this is
about being a buttwad who is discriminating against MOST women! I will=

bet the farm that most people would find a woman with curves healthier =

looking than a women with thighs the size of toothpicks and a body that=

looks the same from the front or the back!

Women are built to have a certain amount of "fat" around the hips, an=

trying to make women look like little boys at the risk of their health =

is hypocritical...

How many of these designers who employ the skeletons to model their
clothing sell their fashions to the average woman? This is a prime
example of steering young girls into a world of self esteem issues
and worse, dangerous health habits...

I have spoken out against this type of crap for years when it comes to =

the fashion industry as well as Hollywood's portrayal of the "perfect=

woman". Unfortunately, I wonder if women can do anything about it and=

also wonder if men are the only ones who can help. Ask most men how
they feel when they look at a woman who looks like a zipper when she
stands sideways and sticks her tongue out how she looks and he will
usually wrinkle his nose up negatively. Ask that same man what he thinks =

of a woman who is built like... Beyonce? Jennifer Lopez? or maybe Rita =

Hayworth, Marilyn Monroe, (who was a size 14) and I guarantee they will=

salivate...

Most women can't achieve the Hollywood stick thin figure, then be able =

to afford the boob job that is needed to add something that has been
dieted away. Most of us can't be airbrushed into perfection and you
know what? All of that is a pressure that most of us don't even want and=

if men continue to support the look", we will continue to go backwards=

as women...

So, to Australian designer Rosemary Masic, I have two words for you... =
