Here's the Scoop...

Tonight is the finale for the 10th season of 'The X-Files'. My viewing of the 'revival' season, only 6 episodes, has been a bit lazy. I've only seen three of the six, but I'm hoping to catch up on all of the Sci-Fi fun with Agents Mulder and Scully.

What's the consensus on the 'The X-Files'? Any fans of the series out there?

Be Well,
Steve

'The X-Files': Fox would 'love' to continue revival
The X-Files may return after its six-episode revival concludes Monday.

Fox entertainment president David Madden expressed interest in continuing the series in an interview with Variety published Thursday.

"We said before it aired that we would love to do more, and we are over the moon with the performance. So far, the response has been really encouraging," Madden said.

The X-Files had a nine-season run from 1993 to 2002 and returned for a 10th season in January. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprised Fox Mulder and Dana Scully for the revival, which was initially envisioned as a limited series.

"We haven't talked to the talent yet about Season 2 in any more definitive way than we had prior to airing the show, but certainly, it seems like there's an audience responding to the show that would love to see more episodes," Madden added.

The revival's two-night premiere was seen by more than 50 million viewers worldwide, and subsequent episodes also performed well. Joel McHale told Entertainment Weekly fans can expect an exciting conclusion when the finale airs Monday at 8 p.m. ET.

"I finally become the main character that I always thought I would be," the actor, who plays Tad O'Malley, joked. "I will say this: All hell is breaking loose. There have been a lot of promises made over the last few episodes, and this will not disappoint."

"I think why people come back is because the mythology, the super-story of what's going on with aliens and conspiracy theories and all that," he added. "People are all still very curious about, and they care very deeply about the characters, and they want to know what's going on with them."

Duchovny also plays Sam Hodiak on NBC series Aquarius, which was renewed for a second season in June. Anderson will return as Stella Gibson on Season 3 of BBC crime drama The Fall this year.

Which actress launched her own film production company, Freckle Films?

Hollywood actress Jessica Chastain has launched her own production company, Freckle Films, in the midst of early negotiations for a lead role in Aaron Sorkin's directional debut, Molly's Game.

Chastain's venture, of which she will act as president alongside Elise Siegel, has also completed its first deal to partner with Trudie Styler and Celine Rattray of Maven Pictures (American Honey, Freak Show) for upcoming projects.

"I'm excited to launch Freckle Films, and I can't imagine a better production partner than Maven Pictures," Chastain said, according to Deadline.

"Trudie and Celine are not only both highly experienced and successful producers, but the projects they've created demonstrate their tenacious dedication to strong characters and compelling stories that clearly resonate with audiences. It's an honor to work with them, as well as their company, one that mirrors many of the goals that I aspire to achieve with Freckle Films."

Collectively, Freckle and Maven have already begun two film projects based on the books The Magician's Lie by Greer Macalister and Life and Other Near-Death Experiences by Camille Pagan.

Reports say screenwriter Aaron Sorkin has offered Chastain the lead role in his directorial debut Molly's Game. The actress and producer is reportedly in early negotiations for the film, as she is also expected to appear in John Madden's Miss Sloane.

Recently, Chastain finished production for The Zookeeper's Wife and will be most immediately seen in upcoming Huntsman sequel Winter's War.
