Here's the Scoop...

The first story was about a mishap on last night's 'America's Got Talent'. I actually saw this during the broadcast and totally misunderstood what was happening and couldn't see the "talent" in taking a flaming arrow to the throat.

Hey, I'm used to watching reruns of 'Gilligan's Island'. I'm not caught up on all this newfangled programming.

Be Well,
Steve

'America's Got Talent': Flaming arrow stunt goes wrong live on TV
A contestant on America's Got Talent was shot in the throat with a flaming arrow Tuesday during a shocking stunt gone wrong.

Married duo Amber and Ryan Stock attempted to impress judges Simon Cowell, Mel B, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel by having Amber shoot a flaming arrow onto a mouth target that Ryan had swallowed.

Anticipation for the feat was built up by Ryan who started out their stage show by swallowing a collection of curved swords.

For the finale, Amber situated herself atop a ladder with a crossbow and lined up her shot to hit Ryan's mouth target. Amber missed her mark however, striking her husband in the throat. As the live audience gasped and Ryan stumbled, he was eventually able to regain his composure and show that he was okay.

Following the accident, Ryan took to Twitter to again reassure fans that was okay. "We had a serious mishap tonight outage live on @nbcagt. A very unfortunate mechanical failure but I am very fortunate to walk away from it," he wrote.

NBC posted video of the incident on Youtube but edited the footage to quickly cut away to Mandel's shocked expression once Ryan was struck in the throat.

Sean Hayes, Rosie O'Donnell join cast of 'Hairspray Live!'
Sean Hayes and Rosie O'Donnell have joined the cast of NBC's Hairspray Live!

The announcement was made Tuesday at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour.

Hayes will play Mr. Pinky, owner of Mr. Pinky's Hefty Hideaway, who sponsors Tracy. O'Donnell will take on the role of the gym teacher.

The current cast includes Harvey Fierstein as Edna Turnblad, Jennifer Hudson as Motormouth Maybelle, Ariana Grande as Penny Pingleton, Kristin Chenoweth as Velma von Tussle, Derek Hough as Corny Collins, Martin Short as Wilbur Turnblad, Maddie Baillio as Tracy Turnblad, Dove Cameron as Amber von Tussle, and Garrett Clayton as Link Larkin.

Fans are still waiting on casting announcements for Seaweed and Little Inez.

Unlike NBC's last three live musicals which have been shot on a soundstage in New York, Hairspray is being produced on a Universal backlot and will utilize outdoor space.

"We are organically going outside when the text calls for us to go outside," said director Kenny Leon.

Hairspray Live! will air on NBC on Dec. 7.

Sesame Workshop apologizes, says 'door open' for Bob, Luis and Gordon to return
Sesame Workshop is apologizing for recent "misunderstandings around the changing cast roles at Sesame Street."

Bob McGrath, a co-star since 1969, revealed last week he, Emilio Delgado and Roscoe Orman were all fired when the pre-school show moved from PBS to HBO and the program's format was cut from 60 to 30 minutes.

Following a public outcry over the perceived ousting of the beloved actors who played Bob, Luis and Gordon for decades, the show's producers issued a statement Tuesday clarifying that while the men had not been laid off, they also would not be appearing in any episodes in the latest season.

"We apologize for the misunderstandings around the changing cast roles at Sesame Street. Over more than 40 seasons, Bob McGrath, Emilio Delgado and Roscoe Orman have made enormous contributions to both television and to the lives of preschoolers. They are, and always will be, a key part of the Sesame family," Sesame Workshop CEO Jeffrey D. Dunn said in a statement.

"As always, our curriculum and educational goals drive our story lines and character appearances. These change season-to-season. In 2014, when we first began producing the current half-hour show format, we let all of our cast members know of the shorter story lines and, therefore, reduced appearances. However, our production team also intentionally left the door open for all actors to continue to appear, based on the story lines that were written in any future season. In our latest season, the story lines written did not include appearances by these three actors and we certainly could have done a better job of communicating with them about our ongoing episode plans," the statement continued.

"I have been in touch with each of them to meet in person about how we best adapt their talents to the current content needs and preschool media landscape, in a way that honors their historic contributions. We are very grateful for the many loyal fans of Sesame who continue to care so deeply about the show and what it means to them."

Which Oscar winner scared Jonah Hill on the street in New York?

Leonardo DiCaprio showed off his playful side on Monday when he was spotted surprising -- and then hugging -- his The Wolf of Wall Street costar Jonah Hill in New York's West Village.

Hill was standing on the sidewalk checking his phone when DiCaprio spotted him.

DiCaprio whipped out his own phone and ran up to Hill pretending to snap photos, which visibly startled the star. Once Hill realized it was his Oscar-winning pal and not a crazed fan, the two hugged and laughed.

Up next for Hill is an appearance in the animated adult comedy, Sausage Party.
