Ellen DeGeneres denies canceling charity appearance over fight

Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi say they did not cancel a charity appearance over a fight. Reports claimed the 56-year-old television host and 41- year-old actress failed to show up at a Saving Spot! fundraiser Sunday because they got in an argument on the way to the event. DeGeneres and de Rossi have since refuted the rumors, and asserted they were not scheduled to attend in the first place. "We were happy to lend our names as honorary chairs and the organization was always aware that we would be unable to attend," the couple revealed in a statement. "This is the first time we have seen our images attached to the invite. It was not approved and it is misleading." "The story is a complete lie," DeGeneres' attorney Marty Singer insisted. "My client told the organizer they never agreed nor planned to attend the event. There was no fight that caused them not to attend." After months of divorce rumors, DeGeneres declared she and de Rossi are "happily married" in September. The couple have been together since 2004, and married in August 2008. The pair are often the subject of baby rumors as well, but recently denied they plan to start a family.

Amanda Bynes to remain in psychiatric hold for 30 more days

Troubled starlet Amanda Bynes will reportedly remain on a psychiatric hold for another month following her recent meltdown and involvement in a shoplifting scandal in New York City. Sources close to the situation told the New York Daily News that doctors treating the former actress have decided to extend her treatment "for another 30 days, minimum." Bynes was placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold earlier this month after being accused of shoplifting in NYC and weeks after she was arrested for DUI in Los Angeles. The hold allowed for the actress to be monitored for the following 72 hours, but after further examination doctors decided to extend it for 14 days. In the days prior to her hospitalization Bynes, who had been making strides in her recovery since first being placed on a 5150 hold in 2013, was seen exhibiting erratic behavior while shopping in NYC and made false accusations that her father had molested her and implanted a micro chip in her brain. According to TMZ, Bynes' parents have already filed for a conservatorship of their daughter and claimed in legal documents the former actress is a "substantial risk" to herself and others.

It's Julianne Moore...

Julianne Moore revealed in the November issue of More magazine that her kids played a part in her joining the cast of the Hunger Games saga. The 53-year-old actress is set to play District 13's President Coin in the last two installments of the films, Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2 and she says her participation in the movies meant a great deal to her son Caleb, 16, and daughter Liv, 12 "Most of the films I make are not for kids," the actress said. "My son was in line for the midnight show when 'The Hunger Games' first came out. They both loved the books. For them, my being in Mockingjay was fairly meaningful." Asked about ageism in Hollywood and the roles she usually plays now that she's no longer in her twenties, Moore said she's more comfortable in her own skin now than she used to be. "When you're starting out in this business, you feel like you're not in charge, that you're still looking to the world for a kind of validation. But as you get older, you realize that direction comes from yourself, from your own desires and responsibilities.
"You choose your work. You choose your life," she continued. "That's where your power comes from - and that's a great feeling." In addition to her role in the Mockingjay films, Moore will next star in Maps to the Stars, Still Alice, Seventh Son, Freeheld and Maggie's Plan in 2015.
