Fall is upon us! That means here in the Chicagoland and surrounding areas, it's cold and it's rainy and it's windy. And as with everywhere else, the weather changes often and the weatherman is never right. Sometimes it is hard to maintain a great look in the rainy weather but hopefully these helpful hints will make your days a bit more stylish!

First and foremost, wear a rain coat!! Find one that fits you properly and choose weather you want one with a hood, a belt, or even a trench coat as well.

Wear thin clothes under your rain coat. This serves two purposes. First, it allows for more movement in the rain coat because it is less bulky and second, if you do get your clothes wet instead of just the coat, thinner clothes will dry faster and not cling as much.

Pick clothes, coats. and umbrellas with bright, lively colors! Just because it's dreary outside doesn't mean you have to be dreary! This will also help to ward off depression as well!

If you're going with a more sophisticated look, instead of bright colors go for red, chocolate, and black but make sure it's a sleek and fitted coat to help boost your confidence on dreary days!

Rain Boots are a given! But this is the 21st century so we don't have to have the childish boots. We can have sleek, sexy rain or rubber riding boots to wear instead! Make sure to find something fun, fashionable, but still practical.

Avoid Suede, Leather, and other materials that are susceptible to water damage and that water can ruin the material completely.

In regards to your hair, pull it back or braid it. Make sure to use either creams or gels to make sure to help damper frizzing on high humidity hair days.

Use waterproof mascara, eyeliner, and eyeshadow instead of powder out and about on rainy days!

Use liquid foundation and cream blushes instead of powder. This will help to deter streaking and last longer.

Keep your make-up light. The less you can get away with wearing the better off you are!
